The local Lafayette birding group, LABA, was started in February 1995 as a way for birders to get together and go birding.
We have nearly 100 members from all over the state, plus a few out-of-staters. This is a fun group of people who like to help beginning birders.
Our field trips are usually the 3rd or 4th Sunday of each month, except for June-Aug when it's really too hot.
We do at least one overnight field trip a year. The September field trip is to Smith Point Hawk Watch, spending Saturday night in High Island and also birding Bolivar Flats.
The membership fee is $10/year, prorated to $1/month after March.
